Surgical Operating Microscopes

Kailee MicroscopeThe introduction of the surgical microscope has revolutionized the field of endodontics. Dr. Ida has invested in the highest quality surgical operating microscopes that provide unparalleled magnification and illumination for your endodontic procedures.  All rooms in our state of the art facility are equipped with microscopes.  All root canal treatments as well as exams will utilize the surgical operating microscope.

Our success depends on us being able to see the minutest of details – you cannot treat what you cannot see. In addition, we have incorporated the latest high definition cameras allowing us to record our procedures with unequalled clarity and detail.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography(CBCT)

Endodontics requires precise imaging to accurately diagnose and treat the intricate root canal systems of teeth and supporting structures.  CBCT allows endodontists to not only see and detect infection and pathology but also allows for treatment planning and more precise treatment.  No other diagnostic modality gives as much benefit to both clinician and patient as CBCT. Remarkably, 60% of all endodontic treatment plans will be changed with the use of CBCT. The use of CBCT is quickly become the standard of treatment for many endodontic conditions and the list of indications is expanding rapidly.

After an exhaustive search, Dr. Ida decided to implement the Prexion Excelsior in his office to aid in the treatment of his patients.  The Excelsior is one the newest imaging systems  on the  market just being introduced in 2017. The beauty of the Excelsior CBCT is that it marries both ultra high resolution with minimal radiation dosing.  Also, this system is easily customizable from large to very small image sizes to suit the patient’s individual needs.  The information from the Excelsior can also be  shared with your dentist to help in diagnostics and treatment planning of your other dental needs.

endovac

EndoVacIn the world of endodontics, cleaning and sterilization of the root canal system is the name of the game.  Historically, conventional irrigation techniques, using a needle and syringe which are used in most endodontic specialty offices today, have been shown to be ineffective in cleaning the root canal spaces of endodontically treated teeth. EndoVac is a root canal cleaning device that allows for predictable and thorough cleaning of the root canal system compared to conventional endodontic irrigation. Only a small percentage of endodontists in America use this effective treatment.  Dr. Ida has dedicated his efforts for the success of your treatment by using EndoVac on every tooth he treats without exception.

Dr. Ida is a world authority on the use of EndoVac and has completed over 8,000 consecutive endodontic treatments using EndoVac. Dr. Ida has researched and developed the techniques to use EndoVac in a safe and effective way for all of his patients. In 2011, he was invited to lecture at the national meeting of the American Association of Endodontists in San Antonio to share these techniques with a national audience.  Also, Dr. Ida is a scientific consultant for Kerr Dental, the manufacturer of EndoVac, where he helps to develop endodontic equipment to enhance the success and quality of root canal treatment.

DIGITAL X-RAYS

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. With digital radiographs, the radiation exposure time is about 90 percent less when compared to traditional film radiographs. Dr. Ida uses two digital radiographic systems to enhance the quality and comfort of your radiographic images.

Our office uses the Schick Elite Sensors for high quality digital radiographs.  For patients with smaller or more sensitive mouths, we also use the Acteon PSPIX Digital Radiograph System, which has an ultra thin sensor for patients who have had difficulties with standard sized sensors.
